This coffee from Hada Molecha (Lot 2) was secured through a close partnership with Catalyst Trade, long recognized for their depth of experience and integrity in Ethiopian coffee sourcing. Their work at origin prioritizes fair compensation for producers while consistently bringing forward some of the country’s most expressive coffees.

Hada Molecha is located in the Gedeo Zone of Yirgacheffe, one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee-growing areas. Here, coffee cultivation dominates the landscape, with the majority of land dedicated to smallholder farming. Families depend heavily on income from coffee cherries to meet daily needs, fund education for their children, and maintain stability in rural communities.

This lot is composed of coffee grown by local smallholders and processed as a washed coffee, a method that highlights clarity, floral aromatics, and precision. Grown at elevations ranging from 1,950 to 2,100 meters, the slow maturation of the cherries contributes to the coffee’s layered acidity and refined structure.

Hada Molecha represents the upper tier of Yirgacheffe coffees — delicate yet complex, with a distinctly tea-like body and aromatic depth. Coffees of this caliber are often produced in limited volumes, and are best appreciated with intention and care.

To reflect this, Peregrine has introduced a Special Offerings format, allowing select high-scoring coffees like Hada Molecha to be experienced in smaller quantities. This approach is designed to make some of the most exceptional coffees we source more approachable, while preserving their sense of rarity and distinction.

In the cup, Hada Molecha delivers a vibrant and engaging experience — elegant, aromatic, and unmistakably Ethiopian.
