The Jinotega region has become synonymous with some of the most vibrant and dependable coffees coming out of Nicaragua. Year after year, we’ve been grateful to source exceptional lots from this region through our close partnership with Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, whose on-the-ground presence continues to redefine what traceability and quality can look like at scale.
This coffee represents a community lot produced by a group of smallholder farmers throughout Jinotega. While volume-driven by nature, every pound remains fully traceable by producer, parcel, and variety—a rare level of transparency made possible through Gold Mountain’s hands-on model. Their approach treats coffee farming much like fine wine production, working closely with each producer on ripeness standards, wet processing, drying, transport, financial management, and long-term sustainability.
During harvest, Gold Mountain places ripeness teams on every participating farm, ensuring cherries are picked at optimal maturity. The result is a coffee that delivers consistency and clarity without sacrificing the individuality of the producers behind it.
This lot is made up of contributions from the following member farmers:
Ada Oneyda
Carlos José García
Cruz Alejandro Gonzalez G
David & Cheyling

Elmer Leandro Montenegro
Ernesto Benito Blandon

Juan Lucas Gonzalez

When we speak about working with small producers and real families, this is what that commitment looks like—named farmers, known parcels, and shared responsibility for quality and progress.
In the Cup
This coffee is a classic expression of Nicaragua: balanced, lively, and quietly complex.
Cocoa Nib
A pleasantly bitter chocolate note leads the cup, reminiscent of fresh cocoa nibs. There’s a depth and authenticity here that grounds the coffee without heaviness.
Cinnamon Apple
A defining malic acidity brings forward flavors of crisp apple, complemented by gentle baking spice—most notably cinnamon. The result is warm, familiar, and comforting without losing brightness.
Sparkling Grape Juice
A subtle, sparkling acidity adds lift and vibrancy, recalling chilled white grape juice or lightly effervescent wine. This brightness ties the cup together and keeps it refreshing from start to finish.
This Jinotega lot showcases what is possible when community-scale production is paired with discipline, transparency, and care. It is approachable yet expressive—a coffee that consistently exceeds expectations while honoring the people who produce it.
